Cake Pops Recipe! EASY!!!!

Ingredients:
2 bags of Candy Melts, 1 container of chocolate frosting, 1 box of cake mix and ingredients to bake the cake, a block of styrofoam, and last but not least, lollipop sticks... oh and Shortening-crisco to thin out the candy melts.

Step 1: Bake the cake as directed and let it cool completely. Once cool, grab a large bowl and crumble it up!! just like my little ones did...their hands were squeaky clean :)

Step 2: Add 1/2 of the container of frosting and a little more to the crumbled cake. Mix well. It should be a little sticky...thats ok. Some people add the whole container...that is up to you.

Step 3: With a one inch icecream scoop, make 1" balls. Once you are done, place them in the freezer for 15 minutes. Your hands should end up being sticky.

Step 4: Melt the 2 bags of Candy Melts in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir and put back for another 30 seconds or until melted all the way.

Step 5: THE HARD PART ;) and you have to be sorta quick.....Grab 1 lollipop stick and dip it 1/2 inch into the chocolate, then stick it into one of the cake balls that were chilling in the freezer. Dip the whole cake ball in the chocolate coating and to remove the excess tap the Cake Pop gently against the side of the bowl and rotate it at the same time. Stick them into a Styrofoam block. IF YOUR COATING IS TOO THICK AND  YOU ARE HAVING A HARD TIME WITH THE COATING ADD 1, 2 or even 3 TABLESPOON OF SHORTENING TO MAKE IT THINER.

THAT'S IT!!!

These Cake Pops were inspired by Bakerella of course! Watch her super easy video tutorial here
OR this other super helpful video here too!

WARNING: Some of your Cake-Pops may crack once dried. That could be because they were too cold when they became in contact with the warm chocolate. Once you take them out of the freezer let them rest for a few minutes before you dip them into the warm chocolate.

OPTIONAL:
Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet!!!

If you dont have Styrofoam use small cupcake liners. After diping the cake pop in the coating place it on wax paper and let it dry. Once dry place them in the small cupcake liner.

Enjoy!!
